TOP CATHOLIC SCHOOLS IN MISSISSAUGA
As a parent myself, I understand the importance of a good education as well as a healthy environment for our children to learn, grow and develop into the next generation of individuals that will take us to the next level in human evolution. It is also extremely important to be taught and surrounded with those having the same mindset that we are all different, we are all unique, we all have something to contribute and most importantly we are all in this together. To have our children learn the highest quality of education we can provide, while showing the importance of self-reliance and self-respect towards everyone is extremely important and it is also up to us and not just the school system to make sure our children are learning these fundamentals. I have compiled a list of the top Catholic Elementary schools in Mississauga as rated by the Fraser Institiute as of 2015 and I will continue to stay on top of the ranks as the years pass so that you know what schools, in what districts are pulling their weight in the classroom. So without further delay, let's get to it......
TOP CATHOLIC ELEMENTARY
1760 Bough Beeches Boulevard, Mississuaga, ON L4W 2B9 P: 905.624.9625 F:905.624.8089
Sts Martha and Mary Catholic School is named after two sisters who both had unquestionable faith and belief but entirely different outlooks on life. One would get consumed in her work and the other while she would still work but also enjoy what life has to offer. I see this school and their approach to education as a successful mix as it's always always to to "Work Hard, Pray Hard" if you will.
3270 Tomken Road, Mississauga, ON L4Y 2Y7 P: 905.279.6472 F: 905.279.3205
With Catholic education is being perceived as simply just a way to view the world that focuses on knowledge, faith and action and their interrelationships. With a great score on the Fraser Institute, you can be sure these beliefs are being understood by the students here.
6770 Historic Trail, Mississauga, ON L5W 1J3 P: 905.795.2706 F: 905.795.9096
With just over 550 students attending here from Kindergarden to Grade 8, it's quite the feat to turn in such a good rating on the Fraser Institiute for 2015. In the mere 12 years of being open, they have clearly found their groove with the help and support of its catholic parents in the teaching of spiritual, moral, religious needs. All the while keeping the same high standards in both academics and physical sport as well.
100 Barondale Drive, Mississauga, ON L4Z 3R1 P: 905.501.0400 F: 905.501.9275
Named after a man whose faith was unbreakable, San Lorenzo Ruiz must teach faithfulness not only to the Lord but to the textbooks here as well, with their great ratings on the Fraser Institute for 2015. As you can see that their belief in studies here must easily match their level of faith that they practice here at the school as well.
4200 Beacon Lane, Mississauga, ON L5C 3V9 P: 905.848.4200 F: 905.848.8172
Spiritual academic achievements aside, St David's community presence is felt as its students take part in many food drives, clothing drives, fundraisers and much, much more. Over their tenur here , academics are stellar at this school as well as the teachings of confidence, self dependance and respect of others. It clearly seems to be working....
6234 Osprey Boulevard, Mississauga, ON L5N 5V5 P: 905.824.5777 F: 905.824.3871
This is yet another stellar Fraser Institute ranking from a school in the Lisgar district of Mississauga. The schools motto is "To have a friend, you must be a friend" and there are no truer words spoken than that. Here they also have their school reflect on the importance of compassion, sharing and caring for one another which is just another plus to the already stellar academic presence here at St Edith's.
2214 Cliff Road, Mississauga, ON L5A 2N9 P: 905.277.0990 F: 905.277.5570
With around 500 elementary students darkening its doors every year, it's very inspiring to see such a great ranking on the Fraser Institute for 2015 from a school with that many young students. They had started a new chapter for the schools roughly ten years ago when they opened a new state of the art school building (blessed of course!) Their motto here must really stick with its students "Co-operate - Educate - Celebrate"
790 Paisley Boulevard West, Mississauga, ON L5C 3D5 P: 905.273.3836 F: 905.273.9539
St Jerome Separate School was named after a priest who was also a writer and and a teacher and is more famously known as the protector of scholars (students) and of librarians. As we can see that there are quite a few protected students here if they can come up with such a good score on the Fraser Institute ratings for 2015. Located in the Erindale district, you will find some nice streets tucked in behind those busy main roads, which I would harness a guess must be a quiet place to focus on your work and studies.
2840 Duncairn Drive, Mississauga, ON L5M 5C6 P: 905.812.5445 F: 905.812.4922
Divine Mercy Elementary is one of the younger schools on this list being only 16 years old, but that didn't stop them from achieving a fantastic rating on the Fraser Institute. With their mission statement stating the schools desire to "Nurture, Inspire and Educate our children in a safe and secure environment. You can see that whatever they are doing here, it is clearly working for them here at Divine Mercy.
1525 Cuthbert Ave, Mississauga, ON L5M 3R6 P: 905.567.5050 F: 905.567.0288
St Dunstan Elementary is named after a great churchman known for his greatness to his fellow man. His strengths were his creativity, his forward thinking in education as well as his unquestionable faith and spirituality. THis must be why their motto is "Faith - Discipline - Wisdom" and also the reason behind their score on the Fraser Institute for 2015.
3180 Aquitaine Ave, Mississauga, ON L5N 3S5 P: 905.824.3058 F: 905.824.4413
St John of the Cross Catholic School has been blessed since June 21, 1984. This blessing must continuing on in their students development and education. Their marks on the Fraser Institute shows they clearly have a grasp on the importance of education. Located in the relaxed district of Lisgar in Mississauga, which must make it easier to study here as many of the schools in this area score incredibly well with the Fraser Institute.
1195 Clarkson road North, Mississauga, ON L5J 2W1 P: 905.822.0721 F: 905.822.0214
Another school in Mississauga with some historical roots as St Christopher is approaching its 60th birthday next year. This elementary school is just another example that things do get better with age. Their Fraser Institute rating is an example of their dedication to their students and the importance of attaining a great education
1830 Meadowvale Boulevard, Mississauga, ON L5N 7L2 P: 416.397.6564
Being one of the few francophone schools in the area, Ange-Gabriel catholic elementary school's Fraser Institute rating is in the top of their class. Offering a welcoming learning environment that safely and individually helps in the development of your child. Ange-Gabriel's commitment to quality learning and education definitely makes it an easy decision on where your child should come to learn.
915 McBride Avenue, Mississauga, ON L5C 1M1 P: 905.279.9478 F: 905.279.8465
Although St John XXIII has a little under 200 students, they must all be taking a page out of the same book as their school ratings on the Fraser Institute for 2015 is nothing short of exceptional. Having a school renewal project done in 2004 makes this school more than equipped and up to date with todays standards. St John XXIII was established with parental support in mind for their catholic students in helping with the moral, spiritual, academic, religious and physical needs in accordance with the churches teachings. As well as being a strong and caring community environment that stresses tolerance, acceptance, commitment to the faith and the schools high standards.
4590 The Gallops, Mississauga, ON L5M 3A9 P: 905.828.4076 F: 905.828.4740
St Rose of Lima is nearing its 30th birthday in December 2016, with just over 400 students at this well rated school they certainly show that they live up to their school motto of "Learning Together". St Rose of Lima has many leadership opportunities here for the students to help model and develop their faith as well as taking an integral part of giving back to the community with their participation in food drives, fundraising and family sponsorship during Christmas holidays. Making a stellar example on how we should all be treating each other in life.
1250 Melton Drive, Mississauga, ON L4Y 1L5 P: 905.277.8962 F: 905.277.8421
With a rich history dating back to 1959, St Edmund Catholic Elementary School has seen it's fair share of changes and additions over the years and is proudly one of those catholic schools that continues to serve the catholic community and is an integral part of the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board. Finishing in the top spot for Catholic Elementary schools in the Fraser Institute rankings for 2015, just goes to show that things do get better with age.
